On July 23rd, an international standard for the ceramic coating industry, Fine Ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced technical ceramics) - Test method for determining density of ceramic coatings, titled "Fine Ceramics (Excellent Ceramics, Excellent Technical Ceramics) - Density Testing Standards for Ceramic Coatings," was announced and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), presided over by Professor Li Yueming and Professor Shen Zongyang, doctors from the Materials Science Research and Engineering School of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. This is also another international standard for independent innovation and technological transformation in China's functional materials industry, and its key technology comes from the invention patent of Professor Bao Yiwang, Chief Scientist of China Building Materials Testing and Verification Holding Group Co., Ltd.
This international standard design scheme provides a convenient and effective way to detect the density of ceramic thick coatings, filling the gap in the field of ceramic coating density evaluation technology. This international standard is the 8th international standard published by the Technical Federation of Standardization of Industrial Ceramics TC194, which applied for project approval from ISO.
Ceramic coatings, such as thermal barrier coatings, wear-resistant coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, etc., are used in industrialization, including airlines, aerospace, vehicles, petrochemicals, and various heat-resistant machinery and equipment. The density value of ceramic coating is also a crucial main parameter in the design scheme of prefabricated components in engineering projects, which has attracted more and more attention from material biologists and mechanical engineers.
Density itself is the main characteristic of a material, which can evaluate its density, porosity, water absorption, heat shock resistance, and elastic mold. Accurate density data information can also be used to analyze deformation and avoid detachment caused by internal stress and thermal pairing in coatings, which is crucial for aircraft engines and other aerospace components. The precise measurement of density in ceramic coatings is specifically manifested in manipulating the net weight of coated components in aerospace parts; The possibility of adjusting the duration of coating processing technology and coating porosity.
